The Chimehuín is born in Lake Huechulafquen and flows east through the woods around Junín de los Andes, on the northern end of the Seven Lakes corridor. Cold, clear, glacier-fed water and class II–III rapids: enough to feel the paddle, gentle enough for families. It is also one of the best known fly-fishing rivers in the world — most visitors come for the trout and never realise you can run it in a raft.
The morning run

- Gear and briefing: the rafting equipment is handed out and the guides walk the group through what to expect.
- Paddle: class II and III rapids, wooded banks, mountain water.
- Back on land: the run ends and the rest of the day in Patagonia is yours.
Leufú runs a single morning departure, so the river is the first thing on the schedule and the afternoon stays open for the lakes, the hot springs or the road back to San Martín de los Andes.

Booking is handled in Spanish, and the confirmation includes a WhatsApp contact. If anything is unclear, ask before paying — we would rather answer twice than have you book on a misunderstanding.
What is included — and what can be added
Guides and rafting gear are included in the trip. Three extras can be requested with the booking: photography of your run, lunch to stay a while longer, and a group asado. Extras are sent to the operator as a request: Leufú confirms availability and price before charging for them, and they do not change the amount you pay online.
